I have been making mine lately in the slow cooker first before stovetop boiling with 6-10#s of pork shoulder, or if I can find it: Boston Butt (usually fattier), and OJ or my fall favorite: apple juice straight off the farm. I usually just add salt, pepper, and cayenne to it with the apple juice (1c per 5#) and it is SO delicious! Here is the slow cooker version of my recipe if you don't have the time for stovetop: http://feastingonfitness.blogspot.com/2011/09/diy-food-adventure-slow-cooker-carnitas.htmlKristy A.https://www.blogger.com/profile/11214418778607114591noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3748553995505192697.post-4682469194675100292011-11-07T14:42:12.235-08:002011-11-07T14:42:12.235-08:00My homies Amelia and Jon (formerly of Santa Cruz) ...My homies Amelia and Jon (formerly of Santa Cruz) pointed us to this recipe. After forcing them to make it for us numerous times we finally gave it a go. Delicious! We used bottled lime juice, and cut the suggested salt in half (per Amelia's recommendation). It came out great and the kids gobbled it up. If I use bottled lime juice again I might use a bit less (3/4 cup) since it's a pretty powerful flavor.

I really want to try it with pineapple juice though...

Thanks!!!!Philhttp://www.functhat.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3748553995505192697.post-33769553813745151912011-10-03T12:26:34.645-07:002011-10-03T12:26:34.645-07:00I got some pork shoulder at the market yesterday. ...I got some pork shoulder at the market yesterday.
